3 things I’ve learned to learn as a designer
1. Yes, this is it! This just feels right
As designers, we do more than solving a form or function issue. We carry an urge improve things, and integrate human elements like empathy (and all the other ones in the feels spectrum). We just need to look at things from an unexpected perspective to reach that point of everything just feels right feel.
2. Literally everything counts
Sometimes when we are trying to get into our creative mojo, it can seem like no improvements are being made despite how hard we’re trying. Though it may feel that way at first, as long as we keep going, the results and efforts is bound to show.
3. Play only as much as we work
Play time, we deserve it — to a limit of course. But the way i see it is that working hours vs play time should be an equilibrium —in google’s definitions that is a state in which opposing forces or influences are balanced. But sometimes we can find ourselves slowing down and the first push back into the momentum indeed can be very difficult. But as long as we reclaim the movement again, the flow definitely becomes easier to ride.
